Opatoshu, Joshua (Opatovsky, Joseph)

(1886-1954)
   American Yiddish novelist, of Polish origin. He settled in the US in 1907. From 1910 he contributed stories to periodicals and anthologies. Later he joined the staff of the New York Yiddish daily paper Der tog. His novels deal largely with Jewish life in Poland and America.
